South Trail
Stretching from Ballina Road in Cazenovia to New Woodstock, the South Trail offers a peaceful and scenic route along the historic Lehigh Valley Railroad corridor. This flat trail is perfect for hikers, runners, and cyclists looking to enjoy the beauty of Chittenango Creek, which it crosses via a stunning historic trestle bridge between Ballina and Thompson Roads.
Just 0.9 miles south of Ballina Road, trail users can easily stop at Critz Farms Brewing & Cider Co., a local favorite offering refreshing locally brewed beverages and snacks—a perfect rest stop before continuing your journey.
The southern portion of the trail (the last 0.5 miles north from New Woodstock) is maintained solely by the Snow Valley Riders Snowmobile Association. The South Trail ends in the parking lot of the former New Woodstock Lumber Company, near the intersection of Elm and Railroad Streets.
