Introducing Peg Engasser—CPF’s Land Stewardship Manager

One of Peg’s responsibilities is to monitor and adjust the water level at the beaver pond at CPF’s Willow Patch.

Please join us in welcoming Peg Engasser to CPF! Peg brings a wealth of experience in conservation, land management, and community engagement, making her a wonderful addition to our team. We’re excited for the impact she will make in caring for our lands and connecting people to the outdoors.

Peg is responsible for conducting annual inspections on easement properties, and working closely with landowners to answer questions and address any issues that arise. Peg will also play a key role in organizing and managing volunteer efforts for Trail Work Thursdays and other stewardship days, helping to maintain and enhance CPF’s public-access trails and natural spaces.

Prior to joining CPF, Peg worked with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, the Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum, and New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG), gaining valuable experience across nonprofit, educational, and utility sectors. She is a graduate of the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and holds a master’s degree in museum studies from SUNY Oneonta, with a focus on nonprofit management and community engagement.

Peg looks forward to meeting you all. Be sure to ask her about her many years spent competing as a “Lumber Jill.”
