CPF Wins Clean Trails Grant

The Cazenovia Preservation Foundation is pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded a grant from the Clean Trails Foundation to begin source testing trailside pet waste for owner identification.
Through newly-developed technology pioneered by R&D Consortium, LLC, CPF is now able to assess dog waste and determine dog breed, sex, and approximate age as well as pet food brand and variety. An advanced AI-powered algorithm compares the test results from each sample against ownership data obtained from dog licenses, pet microchip registries, and online pet food order histories to narrow the list of possible results.
Once the owner has been identified, the program pays for the packing and shipping of your missing or lost dog waste directly to the mailing address on record.
A pilot program conducted in Brownsport, FL showed a 96.8% success rate in owner identification, indicating that there is less than a 4% chance of receiving another pet owner’s lost dog waste in your mailbox. CPF is thrilled to be able to launch this effort as the snow melts and trail use increases.
