  • Step 1 (50%) - 32 pages of content are on the Google Doc for CPF review. We need to decide what additional pages are necessary to transfer from the old website.

  • Step 2 (100%) - Squarespace created, and users have access. I’ll make sure the rest of the setup is complete.

  • Step 3 (50%) - Templates created and needing feedback.

A new Squarespace website.

Your website is a representation of your organization. It reflects who you are and what you stand for. Building a website is similar to building a home, where the floor plan guides visitors to their destination. Each page is like the main entrance, providing a unique experience.

However, unlike a home, a website is digital and can be easily updated and changed. It's important to have a cloud-based, user-friendly platform like Squarespace that allows you to make changes quickly and without the help of a programmer or designer. This is particularly important because CPF's website will likely evolve.

To begin the process, we will download the current web pages and edit the content, ensuring we have an inventory of URLs and content ready for the new site. Modern website building involves less coding, more uploading of brand designs, and creating templates for new content.

Once the setup is complete and the copy is correct, we can start designing each page. This process should be quick and efficient with the right tools and platform.

I'm excited to work with my neighbors on this project and create a website representing CPF.

What to expect

Deliverables

Step 1

I will download up to 60 pages of content from eh current website and upload it to a Google Doc for CPF to edit.

Step 2

I will setup all the Squarespace and Google settings to include: logins, addresses, contact info.

Step 3

I will design a Squarespace template with three different web page templates using the new CPF brand style.

Step 4

I will build all the functionality to ensure website visitors can easily donate, volunteer, and “stumble upon” content. This means using the blog database, calendar, donation and sign-up pages.

Step 5

CPF needs to submit all approved written copy for me to upload to the website.

Step 6

I will design and layout the main webpages like home, about, donate, and contact.

Step 7

I will create the remaining pages from the edited approved CPF copy.

Step 8

I will submit the final website for CPF approval to go live.

Step 9

I will manage the “go live” process and point the domain from WordPress to Squarespace.

Step 10

I will train CPF on how to use the website and support the website on an on-going basis.

Notes

  • Why 60 days? If you gave me all the content and design freedom, I could probably build it in a week. The only reason it will take longer than 60 days is because of approval delays.

  • You’re responsible for the written words. I’ll download all the content from the current website for you to edit. It will be organized like this Google Doc.

  • We can work together on the layout of the copy, like where buttons go, or where integrations like the blog go when we get to the design phase.

  • There are roughly 60 pages on the current website. Most should be easy to transfer unless there are drastic changes to the content.

  • Want to add more pages? That shouldn’t be a problem.

  • The content you give me is what I can upload. For the most part, I won’t be able to write new copy, create videos, or produce images.

  • We’re limited to what Squarespace can do. It’s robust and meets 99% of anyone’s needs. However, if there’s a specific function that you need we should ensure Squarespace can do it before we get too far down the build process.

  • Squarespace is the platform I use. I can help, but I won’t be able to build it if you choose a different platform.
