Land Conservation

CPF conserves nearly 3700 acres of open space, agricultural land, forests, wetlands and scenic vistas in Cazenovia and the surrounding area. Most of these lands are protected through conservation easements. The land remains in private ownership, and on the local tax roles, while ensuring that the conservation values of the property are protected, even when the property changes hands. CPF also owns over 430 acres of preserve land. Many of these CPF-owned properties provide opportunities for public recreation on our four-season multi-use trails.
