Gorge Trail

PRINTABLE TRAIL MAP

Equally loved by skiers and hikers, the Gorge Trail follows the former bed of the Cazenovia and Canastota Railroad. The improved section of this trail parallels the fast-flowing Chittenango Creek for two-plus miles from Clark Street in Cazenovia north to Bingley Road. This trail serves as a portion of the North County Trail/Link Trail that continues both north and south of the Gorge Trail. Take the NCT Hike 100 Challenge here.

The Gorge Trail is beautifully sited under a variety of hardwood and conifer trees. The location of the creek to the west and a natural ridge to the east make for a feeling of woodland seclusion.

In addition to the parking areas off Clark Street and Bingley Road, the Gorge Trail can be accessed from the Buyea’s True Value parking lot on Route 20 or on foot from Williams Street. A series of interpretive signs which provide historical information on the railroad history of the trail are posted along the trail from Buyea’s lot north to Clark Street.

Horseback riding is not allowed on this trail.
