Join CPF and our guest leader, Chary Griffin, for a Snowshoe Sunday hike on Sunday February 21, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
Chary Griffin has been snowshoe racing for 15 years nationally and internationally and has utilized the Burlingame CPF Trails for 30 years of training and trail running in all seasons! In addition to providing some snowshoeing technique tips for novices as well as those who are interested in learning more about the sport, Chary will share some lesser-known facts about snowshoeing, historical images of snowshoeing parties, and tidbits of trail property history and natural history.
Bring your own snowshoes, if you’ve got them. For those who do not, there is a limited supply of snowshoes available to borrow; (but be sure to let us know in your RSVP if you are hoping to borrow shoes). All ages and experience levels welcome.
Starting Location: Lorenzo State Historic Site parking area (Rt. 13 South).
Trail maps provided for small groups who would like to choose thier own route around the Lorenzo field and up and over Fairchild Hill and into the Burlingame Trail system or join Chary for the guided hike. On your return trip, consider a stop at Meier’s Creek Brewing for a “Snowshoer’s Special” to enjoy by one of the outdoor fire pits!
